Who We Are

Diamonds In The Rough Equine Rescue is a 501(3)(c) non-profit located in Virginia.  Some of our horses come to us because loving owners can no longer afford to take care of their horses.  However, many come to us because animal control has become involved.  The horses many times are very sick and underweight.  At Merry Oaks Stables, where our rescue is located, we nurse the horses back to health and find loving forever homes for them.  As you look through our site, if you cannot adopt, please consider sponsoring one of our Diamonds In The Rough.  We happily accept donations of food, hay, halters, brushes, buckets, and of course volunteer time.  We love to have volunteers come out and give our horses the extra TLC they deserve.
