A BIT ABOUT US
Diamonds In The Rough Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Windsor, Virginia that helps support the local equine community by rescuing animals in need. Some of our rescue horses come to us because their loving owners can no longer afford to take care of them and others, unfortunately, end up with DITR in situations involving cruelty or neglect when Animal Control has to become involved. These horses are oftentimes very sick, malnourished, or underweight and require the utmost attention in their individual rehabilitation process. At Merry Oaks Stables, where our rescue organization is located, we nurse the horses back to health and find loving, forever homes for them.
