""Stevie Wonder"" is a beautiful 17.1 hand Spotted Draft Horse who was left behind after an auction. He now has a trusting relationship with our volunteers, especially his Barn Dad, James, and is ground driving and ridable.

Jackson is a majestic Clydesdale gelding who joined our rescue early March of 2025. Like our resident diamond, Turbo, Jackson served on the Virginia Beach Mounted Patrol for several years. After retiring from the mounted police unit, he then worked as a therapy horse in the EQUI-KIDS Therapeutic Riding Program before joining DITR.

Turbo is a Percheron/Thoroughbred cross who stands about 17hh. He is a big boy! He has served as a Virginia Beach Police Mounted Patrol officer for 14 years.

Bambi is a 30-year-old Shetland pony mare who was a new addition here at DITR in 2024. Bambi was very loved by her previous owners, but new circumstances made it best for Bambi to find sanctuary at our rescue. Bambi is an absolute sweetheart who loves attention and greeting you once you enter her pasture. She is currently working on gaining weight, which can be a struggle at her age, but she is headed on the right track!
