Welcome to the DITR Family!

On November 17th, we welcomed Turbo Diesel to Diamonds in the Rough Rescue! Turbo is a Percheron/Thoroughbred cross who stands about 17hh. He is a big boy! He has served as a Virginia Beach Police Mounted Patrol officer for 14 years. We want to thank the officers of the Mounted Patrol and Friends of The Virginia Beach Mounted Police for entrusting us with him in his retirement. Turbo will serve as a Diamonds Ambassador as part of our continuing effort in working with law enforcement and the community to prevent animal abuse and neglect. Thank you to Turbo’s partner, MPO Saunders, and MPO Dove for bringing Turbo to his new home. A special thank you to Ann Miller, VP/Treasurer of The Friends for coming to welcome Turbo when he arrived. Our never ending thanks to our executive director Sonja Head Reuter and her family for all their hard work and allowing the rescue to operate at their farm.
